Community Service Project #3 – Hunger Task Force

ITS helps harvest at the Hunger Task Force Farm

A group of about 20 headed to the Hunger Task Force farm to volunteer on the farm. We were divided into two groups – one group picked corn and red cabbage and the other group picked collard greens. It was hard work but one of my favorite volunteer shifts I have ever done. In 3 hours we harvested more than 3,000 pounds of fresh produce that was going to be delivered to the Hunger Task Force outlets the next day. The farm is a great idea and a valuable resource to the Milwaukee community. I would highly recommend signing up for a volunteer shift. For more information, visit the Hunger Task Force website.
